Initial Treatment

Therapeutic Proposal

or	Permethrin 5% cream	Apply on Day 1 and repeat between Day 8 and Day 14.
	10% Benzyl Benzoate	Apply on Day 1 and repeat between Day 8 and Day 14; a single application on the entire body except the face (unless lesion site) and mucous membranes, contact time of 24h.
	Ivermectin oral 200µg/kg off-label use	In case of poor skin condition: 2 doses (on Day 1 and between Day 8 and Day 14).

Other Considerations

For the use of Ivermectin, an infectious disease consultation is required in case of stay in a tropical area exposed to a risk of loiasis.
Simple clinical surveillance is a possible alternative in the 1^st or 2^nd trimester of pregnancy.

Should a pregnant woman in contact with a case of scabies (primary circle) be treated?

The treatment of a pregnant woman in contact with a case of scabies (primary circle) is highly recommended, especially in the third trimester of pregnancy to avoid contaminating the newborn. The treatment used can be a local treatment or Ivermectin according to previous recommendations and the term of the pregnancy. Close clinical monitoring could be a possible alternative in the first or second trimester of pregnancy.
The treatment of a breastfeeding woman in contact with a case of scabies (primary circle) is recommended according to previous recommendations.
