Retained dose

The dose chosen is 200µg/kg per take, or 1 tab of 3 mg per 15kg of weight. There is no syrup form in France. For children under 15kg it is therefore necessary to prepare the product using 3 mg tablets.

Three possibilities are proposed:

Have a reimbursable compounding preparation (PMR capsule) made by the pharmacist then open the container in a liquid. This solution is the safest, but requires a delay.
Crush and dilute the tablet in 5 or 10 ml of water, then administer the necessary dosage using a graduated pipette using a rule of 3.
The tablet cannot be scored (the distribution of the active agent in the tablet is not perfectly homogeneous). However, it is commonly accepted by experts that there is no significant risk in cutting the tablet into 2 or 4, before crushing it and diluting it in water, in order to administer ½ tablet. in children weighing 7.5 to 15kg and ¼ tablet in children weighing 3,750 to 7.5kg. The use of a tablet splitter is recommended.

Take Ivermectin at the prescribed dose all at once with a liquid, during a meal (better absorption than on an empty stomach).

Infectious notice necessary if staying in a tropical area exposing to a risk of loiasis.

To be renewed once between D8 and D14.
